About the Position

Open Road Integrated Media is looking to hire one intern to work 15 to 29 hours per week in its marketing department.

The Marketing Intern will assist in a number of tasks related to marketing including audience and consumer research, social media content creation, pitch writing, data entry and general administrative tasks. The marketing intern will report to the Digital Marketing Director and work closely with all marketing team members.

Open Road is a fast-paced, high-profile startup—details and deadlines are of the essence. The right individual will have the unique opportunity to experience all aspects of marketing in a next-generation publishing environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Create original social media content and visuals for Open Road Media platforms and fan pages
  • Research media contacts for publicity, reviews and influencer marketing
  • Draft pitch letters, press releases, and eblasts for outreach to outlets and influencers
  • Assign and contribute content marketing pieces for Open Road Media affiliated sites
  • Set up book giveaways and contest mailings


  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong writing skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple and varied tasks
  • Demonstrated interest in book marketing, social media and digital publishing
  • Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop or other design platforms a plus
